Korev gets the Gold

korev (4.8% abv) was handed the top award by the judges at the annual BBI competition in its lagers 4-5.5% category.

Brewed with as much Cornish-grown barley as we can get our hands on, korev is a popular Helles-style lager with a wonderful pale colour and a clean, crisp taste.

Tribute pale ale (4.2% abv) and Big Job double IPA (7.2% abv) also scooped 'diploma of excellence' accolades.

“This year’s BBI Competition had a larger number of entrants compared to last year, with UK and international brewers packing out the classes in the ale and lager categories.

“When the blind tasting categories increase so much, successful winners of gold and silver medals and diplomas for excellence can be very proud of their achievements.  They have produced top quality products which were recognised by the judges - congratulations to all the winners.

St Austell were deserving winners of a number of awards this year. korev is a popular lager that has won many awards previously in our competition and it was a great honour to award it a gold medal.  Big Job and Tribute also excelled, each scoring a diploma for their quality and a true testament to their brewing skill and heritage.”

To top off a week of wins, we also secured a bronze medal for Proper Job IPA in CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain competition at this year’s Great British Beer Festival.
