St Ives 

West Cornwall’s most famous seaside town is renowned for its end-of-year extravaganza that sees the streets buzz with visitors who have travelled from far and wide to celebrate the coming of the New Year. Crowds pack St Ives, producing colourful waves of eclectic fancy dress at every turn. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more scenic backdrop for fireworks than the iconic harbour here. There’ll be events taking place throughout St Ives, with a parade making its way to the harbour in time for the light display. Arrive early and bag yourself a window seat with a view at either the Lifeboat Inn or Pedn Olva.  

Newquay

The surfing capital of the UK is famous for its nightlife, so New Year’s Eve is always memorable here. Newquay’s pubs and bars are perfect for anyone looking to dance and sing their way into 2023. Head down to the harbour in time for the countdown, when an impressive firework display will crack bursts of neon over the glistening ocean. Soak up the party atmosphere at The Central; as its name suggests, this go-to bar lies at the heart of the action. Falmouth

This whimsical event showcases the breathtaking venue in all its glory and wows audiences with a magnificent roster of theatrical performances, live music, and a silent disco. There are welcome drinks and canapes on arrival, with street food and a champagne bar on hand to keep you topped up through the night. The Gin Garden is where you’ll find the dance floor, with DJs driving the beat all evening long. Of course, the cathedral bells will ring in 2023 at midnight. The dress code is strictly black tie and ball gowns/cocktail dresses, with a mask of your choice. 

Looe

If one firework display isn’t enough, Looe is the place for you. The staple seaside town’s light show is so good, they do it twice; one at 6pm for families, with the second being that all-important midnight show. The seafront promenade is where you’ll find the best view. Looe is no stranger to fancy dress too, with people in their thousands making the effort, so outfits are encouraged – the more extravagant the better!
